“By faith Noah…moved with godly fear…” Hebrews11:7.
It’s true that authentic faith is incompatible with a spirit of fear. But real faith evokes a sense of holy fear or reverence. Much of our worship today is devoid of reverence. Often our boldness displaces the sense of respectful fear we should have for our Father. We’ve overemphasised confidence at the expense of holy caution & obedience. We’ve become flippant and familiar with the Lord and His Word. We no longer “tremble at His Word” (Isaiah 66:5; Ezra 9:4), That’s exactly how many in Noah’s day missed the boat (ark of salvation)-literally! Let’s recover that faith coupled with reverence today. Then we can’t miss our boat.
