“To console those who mourn in Zion,To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness…” (Isaiah 61:3a).
Under the Gospel dispensation, our whole outlook radically changes. Christ gives us a brand new outfit of grace. Every repentant sinner receives what the Prodigal Son did on his return: “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet'” (Luke 15:22). We’ve a smart new spiritual gear of honour, dignity, righteousness, joy and praise. In Christ, we look good, smell good and feel good. The dirty old rags of sin are gone. Go on, walk tall for His glory!
