“…that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified” (Isaiah 61:3b).

How do you explain the precious new condition God’s people acquire through His grace? Often Scripture resorts to pictures from creation to depict our spiritual reality because nothing else is effective. Today’s text uses the metaphor of trees (oaks) of righteousness to explain our God-given longevity, uprightness, fruitfulness and awesome strength. That’s who we are in Christ: strong, robust, tall, upright & fruitful. Go ahead, walk tall! That brings God the glory.
