“And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness” (Ephesians 4:24).
What’s exciting about this verse is the sense of control it gives to the individual Christian. It places the onus and power to walk in true holiness by faith squarely upon each pair of our shoulders. We can decide daily to put on the new man–our holy new nature in Christ. We shouldn’t be wringing our hands nervously moaning about how hard it is to be holy. We just must put on our new man everyday just as we daily put on fresh clothes. We don’t waste time bemoaning our dirty clothes! So it is in the spiritual realm. Hallelujah!
