“Then everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel assembled to me, because of the transgression of those who had been carried away captive, and I sat astonished until the evening sacrifice” (Ezra 9:4).

To tremble at God’s words means taking His Word seriously. It refers to a deep-seated respect for God’s wisdom, ways & commands. It concerns an awareness of the consequences of violating His principles. When we “tremble” thus, we recognise our Father’s love as well as His justice. How awesome would be our services if they were meetings of “everyone who trembles at the words of God”! May we be such a church today! Let your prayer be, “Lord, begin with me”.
