“He raises the poor from the dust
And lifts the beggar from the ash heap,
To set them among princes
And make them inherit the throne of glory” (1 Sam 2:8).

This verse is part of Hannah’s prophetic song after her awesome breakthrough. Hannah means Grace (Favour). It’s a celebration of the manifestation of God’s favour. Promotion, honour, dignity and glory are the hallmarks of divine favour. Our text is unequivocal about Who makes this happen: it’s Yahweh who personally “raises”, “lifts”, sets” and “makes”. Look what happens when divine favour intervenes: from pauper to prince, from rags to riches, from rejection to recognition! May you experience a radical turnaround which only God personally orchestrates! Like Hannah, let’s tap into our Father’s limitless resources of favour through the Anointed One (Christ).
