“Abraham planted a tamarisk tree at Beersheba and worshiped Yahweh, El Olam, there” (Genesis 21:33, NOB).

Although we are “living on borrowed time” as it were on earth, our connection with the Eternal God–El Olam–ushers us into the eternal, unlimited realm. In our text, Abraham plants a grove of tamarisk trees renowned for their resilience and longevity–symbolising an outdoor temple. He declares by an act of worship & specific affirmation that the Eternal God intervenes in our finitude to guarantee our victory. Our reception of Christ grants us eternal, abundant life (John 3:16). Likewise, today let’s worship & affirm our Everlasting Father’s infinity over our infirmity. Like singing: “Forever”, “Ancient of Days”, “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms”…
