“Again Elohim said to Moses, “This is what you must say to the people of Israel: Yahweh Elohim of your ancestors, the Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, has sent me to you. This is my name forever. This is my title throughout every generation” (Ex 3:15, NOB).
This is the unique personal name of God. It carries the sense of “He Who Is” or “He Who Causes to Be”. He’s the unchanging, self-existent God. No wonder He manifests things out of nothing! No wonder His Word is creative and does not return to Him void! In a world of myriads of dark forces and complex problems, like Moses’ Egypt, we need Yahweh’s awesome presence. Only He can break every chain of bondage. Only He can obliterate every pretentious deity. Only Yahweh can slice open every formidable barrier. Worship Him alone!
