“So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.” (2 Kings 4:2).

In this story of the indebted widow, Yahweh supernaturally multiplies her insignificant oil. But she first has to increase her capacity to contain the miracle by borrowing containers. She doesn’t borrow things to consume–only containers. She has to swallow her pride and has to believe and obey the prophet’s humbling, “crazy” instruction. Then she experiences a phenomenal economic turnaround. She suddenly rises from debt to abundance, from near-slavery to enterprise, from rags to riches–by authentic faith. May the Spirit enable you to increase your capacity for God’s blessings today too!
