‘Then they served it to the men to eat. Now it happened, as they were eating the stew, that they cried out and said, “Man of God, there is death in the pot!” And they could not eat it’ (2 Kings 4:40).
Prophet Elisha’s intervention in this story averted certain disaster! The whole college of prophetic students under his care would have been wiped out by unintentional food poisoning. We are equally at risk of spiritual food poisoning, especially by “the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees” (Mat. 16:12). Likewise, there are religious heresies that contaminate the faith of many unsuspecting believers in our information-saturated world. Praise God for the anointing that abides in each of us (1 Jo 2:27). May every form of pollutant in your faith-life be nullified today!
