“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name” (Ps 91:14).
Another way to live on earth from an eternal perspective is to intentionally SET your passions upon God. In this context, to “set” is to purposefully focus & direct your mind to God. As with our gadgets, we are responsible for our hearts’ specific settings. God doesn’t just look at whether we actually love Him, He considers the intents & motives of our hearts (Heb. 4:12). Do you desire to please Him? Does your heart want to know Him better? If your actions are right but your heart is wrong, God is not impressed! But if your inner motives and intents are focused on Him, He’s pleased and will reward you handsomely. Because authentic faith is heartfelt faith.
