“Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife” (Mat 1:24).
Joseph’s promptness to obey the night vision is remarkable. His ability to change his mind in line with the Spirit’s unexpected instruction is impressive. He didn’t negotiate, procrastinate or debate God’s command. Neither should we this Christmas and beyond. Let’s cultivate a similar piety and sensitivity to the Spirit’s leading. Who knows what treasures heaven will then entrust to our care?
