“Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men” (Mat 2:16).

The happiest day in the whole world (the 1st Christmas) triggered the most tragic massacre of infants in Israel! Herod personifies the evil that lurks behind the scenes, bent on disrupting the message of “peace on earth and goodwill toward men”. As we enjoy ourselves in this festive season, let’s pray for the protection of our loved ones from the wicked schemes & wiles of the evil one. As we feast, let’s remember the starving. As we rejoice, let’s remember those who mourn.
