“Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit” (Ecclesiastes 7:8).

Anybody can be excited at the start of a New Year. Many people begin a new season with zeal and enthusiasm. But the Bible teaches us to consider the end from the beginning. Let’s reject the tendency to start strong then fizzle out as the year progresses. Let’s reject temporary euphoria. Determine to end strongly. Resolve to finish this year in victory, maturity and glory. Decide to see your goals and projects through to the end. Say no to abortive visions. Sight merely views the present but vision captures the future. May your life, work and ministry be vision-driven. God bless your year!
