“For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe” (Hebrews 5:13).
Beloved, spiritual growth also includes having skill in handling the Word of God. As good soldiers of Christ, we must become adept at using our “sword of the Spirit”. It’s one thing to possess a powerful weapon and quite another to know how to use it effectively. Will you let the Holy Spirit train you to use the Scriptures offensively and defensively–in prayer, worship and counsel? Will you let Him enable you to “rightly divide the word of truth”? It’s not automatic–you have to desire it, pray for it and practice thoroughly.
