“and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” (2 Tim 3:15).

When the Scriptures are properly received, they develop one’s practical wisdom. Their goal isn’t to just load our heads with all sorts of facts and knowledge. Biblically, wisdom has to do with a practical, good sense of judgment. It’s an ability to understand things one wouldn’t naturally grasp. Sense Training Tip #1 is this: prayerfully read and study the Bible as if you’re consulting a trusted Mentor, with a deliberate intent to obtain wisdom for real application today under the Spirit’s direction. Let it correct your wrong beliefs and behaviour. Let it train you in righteousness (2 Tim 3:16-17).
