‘For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human?’ (1 Cor. 3:4).
Heaven is literally “shocked” when the saints think like sinners. Sure, cliques, factions and divisions are normal human phenomena. However, we are NOT saved in order to remain “normal”! We should become “supernormal”–that is, better than common degenerate humans.The whole point of being born again is to make us a brand new breed in Christ, new creations, for old things have passed away (2 Cor. 5:17). We must operate above our culture’s corrupt ways. We must love all our brothers and sisters in Christ alike. We must even love our enemies. We must embrace Paul as well as Apollos–ALL our pastors and leaders, without favouritism, in spite of their differing gifts and styles. That’s mature discipleship. Hallelujah!
