‘Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”‘ (Acts 2:38).
Many believers have no clue about the awesome chain reaction true conversion triggers in their lives. Firstly, true repentance releases God’s gracious forgiveness. Secondly, true repentance prepares one’s heart for the fullness of the Spirit. Rejecting the darkness enabled our reception of the Light. Shunning the world’s hold readies one to embrace the Spirit’s power. When you truly let go, you let God. Our hearts must not be chockablock with sins, issues and burdens that haven’t been cast upon Jesus. When we truly renounce our self righteousness, unbelief and human traditions, God’s Word says we “shall receive” the Spirit–not we “may receive”!
