“Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent” (Rev 2:4-5).
Jesus, the Lover of our souls, won’t settle for a stale love! He won’t accept a lukewarm devotion. It’s all or nothing! We must love, serve & worship God with our whole heart, soul, mind & strength–that is with our entire spirit, emotions, intellect, will, energy, work, money and time (Mark 12:30). Nothing less! For instance, I often hear people argue about what percentage of their income is “fair” to give to God. They don’t realise that we should love Him with ALL of it–including what we “keep”! Today I pray that you recover or discover your first love for God–as the case may be.
