“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored?” (Mat. 5:13a).
In addition to the two powerful functions of “saline saints” discussed yesterday, another great benefit believers bring to society is cleansing. Instead of cursing our society and complaining about all it’s ills, we administer purity and integrity everywhere we go. Our presence and participation in society should purify the individual and corporate psyche. We are catalysts for change and transformers by nature. Don’t be ashamed to be the voice of reason and right in your work, family and community. And please don’t lose your taste. It’s your distinctive savour that makes you special. Like salt, people won’t write books about you, but they need you. You may be an unsung hero, but you’re a hero still! As long as you retain your saltiness. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you retain your seasoning, saving and sanitising power everywhere and always.
