“Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?” (Rom 6:2).

There is a huge gap between how we ought to live as reborn people and our lifestyles today. There’s a massive chasm between what Jesus achieved for us on Calvary 2000 years ago and our experience today. To many, the finished work of the Cross is purely historical rather than current. That’s why the results of our Redemption have not translated into reality for some of us. From God’s standpoint, sinful saints are an unacceptable contradiction. Good Christians don’t toy with sin! They know that they are dead to it. To be dead to sin means we have to reckon ourselves incapable of indulging in sinful deeds (Rom 6:11). When temptation presents itself before you, banish the thought that yielding is an option.
