“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it” (1 Cor 10:13).
Being aware of our shared struggle against life’s storms and issues can be reassuring. Knowing that someone like you has faced similar challenges without caving in can be inspiring. That sense of solidarity is precious. II. God’s faithfulness is an assuring reality in the midst of the confusion and frustration temptations bring. It is His faithful love as a compassionate Father that monitors the challenges arrayed against us in relation to our capacity. Only what we can overcome is allowed through. So every temptation you face is conquerable! III. There’s always an exit strategy–God makes sure of that. No matter how much of a dead end it may look, God knows exactly how you can beat the trial or escape it. Trust the Holy Spirit to show you the way. Don’t rely on your own understanding, lest you fall (1 Cor. 10:12). God never runs out of options!
