“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing” (Jo 15:5).

There must not be confusion in the church between the Cause and the effect, between the Source and receiver and between Lord and the led. It’s the divine Vine who sets the pace and we follow. The trouble with many Christians is that they are busy trying to call the shots. We are keen to dictate the pace and define our own destinies. It ought not to be so dear friends! We shouldn’t insist on swapping roles with Christ. When we fully accept that we are the branches and Jesus is the Vine, we will not only bear some fruit but we shall produce much fruit. God’s order must be respected and celebrated. The reason why our fruitfulness is meagre, is our failure to allow the Vine (Jesus) to lead the way and totally dictate the pace and direction of our lives. Let the Vine lead the way and infuse your veins with His life and see how you’ll flourish beyond your wildest imagination!
