“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, …(Gal 5:22).

In the same discourse in which our Lord highlights the central role of love and His goal of full joy for all His disciples, Jesus also states categorically that He offers a peace that the world can’t give (Jo 14:27). Oh how we need the peace of God to truly reign in our hearts and minds! Unless our love is also peaceful, it will not make sense to those around us. We must let the Prince of Peace calm the raging storms in our hearts and the tempests in our minds daily. Let every frustration and anxiety bedevilling your life dissipate in Jesus’ mighty name. Let every hidden war raging in your mind’s battlefield cease today. Cast every care upon His shoulders with supplication and thanksgiving, and the peace of God will guard your heart and mind (Phi 4:6-7). This is how we restore our sense of peace when the trials, troubles and tribulations around us threaten to unsettle our souls. Then we are free to express the love of Christ from a graceful and peaceful attitude. Who can resist that?
