“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit” (Gal 5:25).

Being filled with the Spirit is well and good, but our real goal should be to live in the Holy Spirit. God’s will is for His children to make the Spirit their permanent dwelling place. We should not be “visiting” the presence of God now and then. Our failure to abide in the Spirit continually explains the contradictory behaviour the church of the Galatians had. It also accounts for the carnality contemporary Christians also exhibit. If we don’t live in the Spirit, we cannot walk in Him. We cannot produce the godly lifestyle (fruit) befitting our new life. Unthinkable though it may be, but the “works of the flesh” become our hallmark (Gal 5:19). God forbid! Today let’s determine by faith to consistently live and walk in the Holy Spirit. Then our lifestyles will conform to Christ’s, our testimonies will count and God will be glorified.
