“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Rom 8:14).
Our destinies depend on whose leadership holds sway in our lives. Scripture teaches that the typical sinner’s life is controlled by the twin forces of the course of this world and the prince of the power of the air (Eph. 2:2).
When we are born again that all changes. The Holy Spirit’s role in our lives cannot be a passive one. He cannot be a spectator, passenger or commentator in our plans, programs and events. He comes in to lead, direct and control our hearts, minds and lives fully. His vision and influence must have priority. His foresight and wisdom must inform our decisions and priorities.
If we’ve not yet surrendered the authority and control of our lives to the Paraclete, then we’ve not fully accepted His leadership. Then that casts serious doubt on our identity as children of God. Lord have mercy!
