“So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind” (1 Cor. 14:15).
Most good Christians already pray and worship with their understanding (minds). Where we fall short is worshipping with our spirits. In this specific context, to sing with your spirit is to sing in tongues. It’s appalling that the typical Christian views what God’s word considers normal as abnormal! I mean here that praying and singing with your spirit (tongues) should be every believer’s daily practice. It should be the norm rather than the exception. We miss out on what God has in store for us because we dilute His truth to suit our political correctness. That ought not to be so! Let’s do what the word says New Covenant believers should do. We’ll live to enjoy the benefits!
