“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!” (Ps 103:1).

Besides instructing their souls to be still and know that Yahweh is God, informed disciples also know how to bestir their own souls to praise God. Have you noticed that our minds can easily talk negative? It’s a small matter for doubt, fear and criticism to become the subject of our inner talk. Our souls have no qualms about blaming, complaining or condemning. That comes naturally! What doesn’t come naturally is praise. We have to retrain our hearts and minds to function within our reborn reality. If we don’t, the hostile voices from our souls will constantly contradict our regenerate spirits.

Today, let’s replace criticism with commendation, complaints with compliments and fear with faith. The economy may be unstable, the climate unpredictable and the future uncertain, but Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (He 13:8). Bless His holy name!
