“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit” (He 4:12a).
Our inner world can be laden with all sorts of attitudes, burdens, clutter, motives, and weights that disrupt the flow of God’s anointing, grace, power and wisdom from our spirits into our minds. That’s why we need a spiritual tool that can penetrate the depths of our living personalities and deal with all that stuff. God’s double-edged sword, His Word, is living and sharp enough to surgically remove the malignant issues within our hearts. That’s why our reception of and obedience to the living Word is crucial. When we do, the Word will purify, purge and detox our hearts (see Ps 119:11; Jo 15:3; 17:17).
Let the heavenly scalpel excise the alien ideas, dark thoughts and evil intents in our souls.
