“Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke in that day” (Josh 14:12).

One of my favourite biblical metaphors of the believer is the eagle (see Isa 40:31). Eagles are designed to scale heights and to soar high into the heavens. They are wired for altitude, aerial views and leadership. Just like you and I. That’s why we are not intimidated by heights of responsibility and opportunity. That’s why we’re not scared to lead the way. We’re a city on a hill and the light of the world (Mat 5:14). We love mountains because we know their value. Biblically, mountains are symbolic of several precious things (which we’ll explore further in the next episode). Suffice it to say that, as spiritual eagles, we know that we are designed to be head and not tail, we belong above only and not beneath, up the mountains rather than down in the valleys (see Deut. 28:13). We’re eagles not chickens. You’re blessed!
