“Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?” (Ps 24:3).

Another example of the spiritual significance of mountains pertains to the presence of God. There is a sense in which entering the holiest with boldness is ascending to a higher realm spiritually (He 4:16). Victorious believers have a knack of frequently lifting up their souls unto the Lord even amidst the hustle and bustle of living (Ps 25:1). To do this, we don’t necessarily have to physically leave our earthly abode. It’s possible for one to literally go up a mountain for prayer and still miss the presence of God. It’s also possible for one to go up to one’s Upper Room spiritually without climbing some literal hill. Don’t let your earthly domain limit your interaction with your Heavenly Father with whom you’re seated with Christ in heavenly realms (Ep 2:6).
