“And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it” (Nu 13:30).

Nations, churches and families each possess a collective psyche. Such a collective soul, personality or mentality can be influenced positively or negatively by its key influencers. The commissioning of tribal leaders in Nu 13:2 is in keeping with this principle. They are selected precisely because of their strategic positions as leaders in their own communities.

Now, the Bible clearly demonstrates the tragic consequences of having faithless Influencers: “Then all the congregation raised a loud cry, and the people wept that night. 2 And all the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The whole congregation said to them, “Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or would that we had died in this wilderness! ” (Nu 14:1-2).

I pray that you and I do not adversely affect the collective mentality of our families, church and nation through faithless and fearful influence.
