1 Thessalonians 5:1-2
But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.
The thief-at-night metaphor implies that most people will be caught off-guard when Jesus comes again. PREPARING for the Day of the Lord is more important than PREDICTING it. It will surprise, outsmart and outpace many. Let that not be your portion! (See also Mat 24:43, 2 Pet 3:10, Rev 3:3).
