1 Thessalonians 5:8
But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.
Spiritual sobriety is achieved by putting on two pieces of God’s armour. The first one is the breastplate of faith and love. Living by faith and love secures one’s heart from spiritual intoxication. The second sobering piece of armour is the helmet of salvation. The hope of salvation protects one’s mind from intoxicating influences. Let us keep both pieces of armour on all the time. Then we’ll always be spiritually sober, effective for the Master’s use and ready for the Rapture.
