But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.
“I will serve no foreign gods, nor any other treasure!” Although such lyrics represent a heartfelt desire to stay true to the One True God, just singing them doesn’t exempt us from the threat of spiritual infidelity prevalent today. May the Holy Spirit open our eyes to see the abominable idolatry that besets us all in our times!
