Revelation 3:13
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

I sometimes hear genuine Christians openly admit their poor or zero ability to hear God’s voice. They do so without any sense of urgency, necessity or guilt. Beloved, none of us can afford not to hear the Spirit! None of us is exempt from the duty to hear His voice. In fact, the verb translated “let him hear” is in the imperative mood in the Greek. Thus, it expresses a forceful command rather than a mere statement. So Jesus demands that everyone equipped with ears MUST hear the Spirit. For the sixth time in two chapters, the Lord appeals to everyone with functional ears to use them for spiritual advantage. Whatever differences exist among the churches, they share a common order to hear the Spirit’s message.
