Revelation 4:2
Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne.
Beloved, heaven is real. And what is heaven? It is the place of the everlasting blessedness of the righteous, the home of departed spirits. Christ calls it His “Father’s house” (John 14:2). It is also called “paradise” (Luke 23:43; 2 Cor. 12:4; Rev. 2:7), the heavenly Jerusalem” (Gal. 4:26; Heb. 12:22; Rev. 3:12), the “kingdom of heaven” (Matt. 25:1; James 2:5) and the “eternal kingdom” (2 Pet. 1:11) among other appellations. This realm is separate and immune from earthly limitations. It is superior to our earthly realm. How comforting it is that the lack, struggles and weaknesses of planet earth are not the be all and end all of our lives. There’s no evil, corruption, abuse, sorrow, chaos, ugliness or darkness there. Hallelujah for the greater, better and superior reality called heaven!
