Revelation 4:8c
They never rest day or night, but keep on saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is coming.

In our exploration of the dynamics of celestial worship yesterday, we noted the CONTINUITY thereof. Of equally crucial importance is the CONTENT thereof. That is our focus today.

Firstly, note that the seraphim worship the Almighty God in a threefold fashion (the trisagion): holy, holy, holy. It is quite significant that the hallmark of heavenly worship is holiness. So should it be among us, beloved.

Those who seek the true God among us must be impressed, not so much by our wit, humour or power. Rather they should be struck by the deep sense of awe and holiness we genuinely display. Please remember that devils can imitate power, but not holiness.

The Bible clearly teaches, ‘But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy”‘ (1 Pet 1:15-16). Furthermore, Scripture tells us that God chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world, so that we should be holy and without blame before him in love (Ep 1:4).

Beloved, let the world accuse us of poverty, naivety or backwardness, but not for perversion, corruption or sin. There should be no question about our purity of thought, word and deed. Let our lives and our worship reflect the holiness of the Father, Son and Spirit. Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due His name; worship Him in the beauty of His holiness (Psalm 29:2).
