Revelation 5:6
Then I saw a Lamb standing in the middle of the throne, the four living creatures, and the elders. He looked like he had been slaughtered. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent into all the earth.
Today we resume our consideration of the Lamb of God in heaven. Firstly, we noted His location–at the very heart of heaven’s Throne. From this we learnt that our lives on earth must also reflect the centrality of Calvary.
Now we note the Lamb’s power. This Lamb has complete power, as the seven horns symbolise. That means the Exalted Christ is no longer the sacrificial victim He was during His first advent. He is no longer a tender plant, despised, rejected, man of sorrows, acquainted with grief, oppressed, afflicted, silenced lamb to the slaughter (Isa 53:2-7). All power in heaven and on earth belongs to Him (see also Mat 28:19). Now He is omnipotent.
Thirdly, the new look Lamb also has complete knowledge, as the seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits, symbolise. He has perfect view of everything in heaven and earth. The past limitations of time and space no longer constrict Him. Nothing good or bad escapes His notice. No single teardrop goes unnoticed. No situation is inscrutable. No challenge is too complex. No prayer goes unanswered. Now He is omniscient.
Worthy is the slain, risen, exalted, enthroned, glorious, omnipotent and omniscient Lamb of God!
