And have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth.
Yesterday we noted that the book of Revelation is precious to the true church because it reverses Genesis problems. Today we appreciate it because it restores our Genesis dominion.
You will recall that at the beginning of history the Bible clearly states that God blesses humanity, giving us comprehensive dominion over the earth (Genesis 1:28). Tragically, shortly after this the evil one craftily stages a coup and rules and ruins the world for millennia as the “god of this age” (2 Cor. 4:4).
Happily, at the close of history the Lamb of God restores our original dominion! He makes us kings and priests, who shall reign with Him on earth (Rev 5:10, Dan 7:18). Hallelujah!
My dear friend, if you never hold high office in this crooked world, worry not. If you don’t ever receive honour in this corrupt age, worry not. If your genius is never recognised, worry not. Worry not because all genuine believers shall reign with Jesus throughout eternity.
Although the full expression of our dominion lies ahead, we can now exercise authority over all the power of the enemy today (Lu 10:19). We can now practice our magisterial judgment over internal affairs (1 Cor. 6:3). We can now reign in life through the abundance of grace and gift of righteousness we have received
(Rom 5:17). Reign, saint of God!
