Revelation 5:12
Saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honour and glory and blessing!”

Although the terms power and strength may seem identical in meaning, they have a genuine difference. Whereas power (dunamis) denotes ability to act or produce an effect, strength (ischus) denotes ability to resist being moved by a force.

While power is about performance, strength is about resilience. You’re powerful when you can make things happen, but you’re strong when you can stop things from affecting you.

Our Lord’s strength spells might, integrity, faithfulness and patience. He is strong and tough enough physically, mentally and emotionally to handle any problem on our behalf. He is not weak, fickle, irritable, unstable or unreliable–hallelujah! To be so patient, compassionate, rich in mercy, faithful and slow to anger demands ultimate inner strength.

Let us acknowledge that the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal toward him (2 Chron. 16:9), that the King of glory, the LORD is strong and mighty in battle for those who seek Him (Psalm 24:8) and that the name of the LORD is a strong tower to whom the righteous run and are safe (Pro 18:10). Run to Him today, child of God–that’s the safest place in the world!
