Revelation 5:12
Saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive…BLESSING!”

In the original, ĕulŏgia is the word translated into English here as “blessing”. It literally means fine speaking, adoration, commendation or something that you say to show respect or affection for someone. It is the high praise, tribute or a deeply felt expression of appreciation we render to God. That is the seventh of the seven grounds of praise for which the Lamb of God is worthy.

Beloved, it’s not right for us to only employ our best language for our loved ones, boardrooms, court rooms, secular meetings, theatres and the like. It is wrong that we then serve the Lord shallow, stale, cheap, routine and halfhearted appreciation.

He deserves the best and freshest praise, commendation, tribute and adoration we can offer.

“Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits (Psalm 103:1-2).” Let that be our heart cry and our regular practice.
