Genesis 49:1
And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.

What a foresighted father this was! This patriarch is indeed a type of the Heavenly Father. Who else knows the end from the beginning? Who else knows the good works foreordained for those who love God? (See Ep 2:10, Isa 46:10).

Note also that the Father calls all His children to come together. For every service He admonishes us “not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching” (Heb. 10:25). As the Parousia draws closer, we must INCREASE our formal and informal fellowship with likeminded believers.

Can you hear the Father inviting you to His banqueting table, where His banner over us is love (Song 2:4)?
This is no time to scatter, brethren! This is not the time to be divided, either. Parousia-conscious believers value regular fellowship.

We cannot understand our destiny in isolation. A divided church cannot handle the challenges of the last days. There are things our Father can only release and disclose among us when we gather in one accord as His offspring (1 Cor. 14:26, Mat 18:20).
