Hebrews 1:2-3
In these last days, He has spoken to us by His Son. God has appointed Him heir of all things and made the universe through Him. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact expression of His nature, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

The first chapter of Hebrews informs us of both the continuity and the distinction between God’s revelation in the olden times and in these end times. There is continuity because the ultimate Author (Source) of the divine revelation is exactly the same in both eras.

The sharp distinction is in the channel (messenger). In the past God spoke through the prophets. In these last days He has spoken through His Son. The former was indirect; the latter is direct. In the latter, the Source of the revelation and the Messenger are identical!

Beloved, there is no dispute about the divine inspiration of ALL Scripture (2 Tim 3:16). What is critical, however, is for us to “pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it” (Heb. 2:1).

Sadly, many good Christians today are paying little or no attention to the Message. Beloved, it’s high time we increased our attention to God’s direct, final Word from the lips and person of His Son, lest we DRIFT away from the truth. The trouble with drifting is that it is a slow, gradual movement, which often happens unnoticed. If we’re careless, we’ll be lost and won’t even know it. Saints beware!
