2 Thessalonians 2:6-7
And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.
Praise God for the Holy Spirit, who presently restrains the spirit of Antichrist from running rampage over the world prematurely! The Spirit of God is not just busy at work in our hearts, lives and churches, beloved. He is mightily at work in the world.
A time is coming when He (the Spirit) will be withdrawn from the world. And then all hell will break loose! Beloved, I don’t want to live without the Indwelling presence of the Paraclete now or in future. Neither do you, because the results are too ghastly to contemplate.
How much more evil would be terrorising our global home if the Holy Spirit wasn’t keeping the devil’s plans in check? How much abuse, tyranny and injustice would flood our societies were the Holy Spirit not containing the scourge of sin and the tide of evil on our planet?
Oh how I love you, Holy Spirit!
