Isaiah 66:13
As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; And you will be comforted in Jerusalem.

Although this verse in context refers to the future glories of Jerusalem, it still has application to believers of our generation.

We have here the manner of comfort the Father gives unto His afflicted and disheartened children. God’s comfort is likened to that of a loving mother. That speaks of the deep tenderness of God’s heart and attitude toward us.

If you have been hurt,
If you’ve ever been mistreated,
If you’ve ever been misunderstood,
Misjudged, overlooked, ostracised,
Shortchanged, brokenhearted or otherwise afflicted–please hear the word of encouragement from the God of all comfort:

“As one whom his mother comforts, so will I comfort you; and you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.” That’s my prayer for you!
