Haggai 1:5-6
Now, therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways. You have sown much, and harvested little. You eat, but you never have enough; you drink, but you never have your fill. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm. And he who earns wages does so to put them into a bag with holes.

Secondly, when you do not prioritise God’s Kingdom, your appetite is insatiable. Your life is never fulfilled. The availability of stuff in your life doesn’t satisfy you. You’re frustrated because you never have enough. You’re always looking for something more.

Beloved, some of the restlessness among believers today is a telltale sign of that deep-seated hunger nothing else can satiate. Much of the pursuit of happiness common today is just an evidence of the problem above. It has a spiritual rather than a physical source.

Beloved, God richly provides us with good things so that we can enjoy them (1 Tim 6:17). It is His will for us to live a fulfilling, qualitative, happy and abundant life (John 10:10). May that be your portion!
