Haggai 2:3
Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? And how do you see it now? Does it not seem to you like nothing in comparison?

Honest people can be discouraged when they compare the present with the past. Although we must not deny past glories, we also must not let them paralyse us.

Our grief over what we lost can dampen our enthusiasm for the new things God is doing. Our disappointments over what could have been can suffocate our expectation of the future. Don’t allow that!

Paul talks about “forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead” (Phi 3:13). That’s exactly what victorious believers do beloved.

Without releasing the past, we cannot reach for the future. Refuse to be a prisoner of your past glory or achievements. Expectation is the breeding ground for miracles. Expect better days ahead. Expect something good from the Father’s hand today.
