Romans 14:8
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.

Heaven is reserved only for men and women, boys and girls who are willing to live and to die for Christ. Yet we can’t die for Christ if we don’t live for Him.

I’ve observed that some Christians are happy to follow Jesus as long as it costs them little or nothing. They are quite willing to belong to Christ on their own terms. How can that be, beloved, if Jesus is Lord?

Our personal lives will be a true testimony for Christ when our attitude is right, brethren. We must be ready to say with Paul, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Phi 1:21).

To live for Christ means intentionally going about all your affairs in His honour. In every transaction and interaction with others, you seek to glorify God. That means your relations with family, friends, foes, neighbours, boss, classmates, saints, workmates and strangers must all reflect the love and light of Christ.

We can’t talk like the devil, hate like a demon, wallow in sin and and still live for Christ! Your whole life should be a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God (Rom 12:1). It’s not just the words that you say that make a difference. Your personal life is a true testimony of the reality of your devotion to Christ. Will you live and shine for Jesus today?
