Revelation 11:7
When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them.

It is highly significant that the Lord’s Two Witnesses of the Tribulation do not die BEFORE they have completed their testimony. They are protected supernaturally for as long as their mission is undone.

Such too was our Lord’s mindset during His earthly ministry. As He approached the finishing line He prayed, “I have glorified You on the earth: I have finished the work which You gave me to do” (John 17:4).

Similarly, after many years of fruitful labours, Paul boldly declares, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing” (2 Tim 4:7-8).

Note that the preservation of Christ’s Witnesses is only conditional on their completion of the kingdom agenda, rather than on the success of any of their pet hobbies or projects. Our survival depends on our fulfilment of the purpose of God. Serving God is not just profitable; it’s also protective.

Beloved, let us trust God to preserve us for as long as our assignment on earth is incomplete. You shall not die prematurely! Say no to unfinished business.
